The Plastic Circular Economy department, within Axens' New Development & Transformation Division, develops and commercializes innovative plastic recycling technologies, from R&D to industrial deployment. The intern will join the technology team responsible for process development and technical proposals for recycling projects. The assignment will focus on Axens' PET recycling technology, jointly developed with IFPEN, Jeplan, and Axens. Axens Presentation: Axens provides a complete range of solutions for the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels, the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates, the chemical recycling of plastics, all natural gas treatment and conversion options along with water treatment and carbon capture. The offer includes technologies, equipment, furnaces, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents and related services. Axens is also specialized in Carbon Capture. Axens is ideally positioned to cover the entire value chain, from feasibility study to unit start-up and follow-up throughout the entire unit life cycle. Tasks and activities: Her/his main tasks can be organized as follows:
- Literature survey PET chemical recycling technologies: relevant scientific & marketing publications review, patents study & write up of synthesis document, PET polymerization: focus on polymerization main parameters/ product properties/ PET grades specifications depending on final application & write up of synthesis document,
- Proposal Tools improvement Simulation of the process with simulation software (Pro II / Hysys), Improve the proposal tools including preliminary equipment sizing, energy consumptions estimation, cost estimate…
- Development of the technology Data analysis of demonstrator unit operation: Mass balance consolidation / Main operating parameters impact on unit performance, Technical Economic studies. Profile:
- Currently in your last year of engineer school specialized in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a six months internship,
- Solid knowledge in simulation software (Pro II preferable). An experience in simulation would be appreciated (through projects or internships),
- Willing to contriiute to the development of the plastic circular economy,
- Good English level is needed, (speaking and writing). Rigorous and proactive.
