Job Summary:

  1. The Fragrance Development Manager (FDM) plays a pivotal role in the company's success by spearheading the creation of captivating perfumes that align with the Group's strategic objectives and values.
  2. The role oversees perfume projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  3. Specific expertise in olfaction and project management ensures the timely delivery of high-quality fragrances that meet customer specifications and market demands.
  4. Reporting Line: Fragrance Development Director
  5. Supervision: None
  6. Location: Dubai (in-premises)


Role Responsibilities:


Project Management:

  1. Lead perfume projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications.
  2. Determine appropriate resources and workflows for each project, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  3. Validate perfumes for customer submission and consumer testing, providing expert guidance throughout the evaluation process.


Management of the Perfume Collection:

  1. Manage the company's perfume collection, analysing market changes and identifying opportunities for product enhancement.
  2. Collaborate with Sales staff to promote products and advise on collection updates.
  3. Maintain comprehensive records of creative development and market analysis to inform future strategies.

Key Performance Indicators:

Measure success through win rates, sales performance, and project timeliness.

Evaluate collaboration effectiveness and creativity.

Assess image and reputation among peers.


Required Skills & Experience:

Proficiency in olfaction and technical fragrance knowledge.

Extensive experience in fragrance evaluation techniques and project management.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred).

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in fragrance development, preferably in the Middle East market.

Fluency in English and Arabic highly recommended (French proficiency preferred).

Passion for the fragrance industry and continuous learning.
