THE EXCITING MISSION
I am hiring a R &D Leader / Head of R&D for a preclinical surgical robotics company developing a breakthrough technology for one of the biggest causes of death in the world.
The role is based in Paris and full relocation will be offered as well as a very attractive salary, bonus and other benefits. There is also rapid career progression anticipated for this role and the individual will build a team of R&D engineers and work across a large multiskilled engineering team.
Following successful animal trials, the team are moving to First in Human studies and are at the start of an exciting build out of the wider R&D team with a full pipeline and plenty of activities ongoing. Hence the anticipated rapid career progression.
THE ROLE
This a strategically critical role. The individual will build and lead a team of R&D engineers to develop a catheter kit taking the technology from concept to through the clinical and validation phases to industrialisation, working cross functionally across the product development team, with suppliers and wider business.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years experience in catheter development / class III or class IIa medical device development
Specific experience in developing catheters/microcatheters or similar devices, from early design stage to clinical trials and production / manufacturing
Knowledge of the regulatory approval process with the FDA and EU bodies
Strong understanding of R&D process including design controls, V&V, risk mitigation and documentation
Experience leading or mentoring team members would be advantageous.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters or BSc Mechanical or Material Engineering or similar
Biomedical Engineering ideal
Interventional neuro a plus
