We are now looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Paris, France.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Sales Engineer position is a key role within the National Sales Team, holding the position as the team lead for the flow business of the department and for a selection of our major customers.
As an individual, you need to demonstrate best in class technical skills - especially on the AC Power segment - bidding experience, commercial acumen, and capability to build strong networks internally within VERTIV community.
You will form part of a team that cover all disciplines of the business, within which you will hold technical sales responsibility. Solid technical experience combined with strong commercial orientation is key to succeed in this role.
Your targets will be set to align with the growth expectations of the market and VERTIV's strategic position.
Technical Sales Engineers are an extremely important function for VERTIV, and consequently we are looking for a highly competent, energetic, and ambitious individual to take on this role within the organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Min. 5 years proven records in technical bid management or project management.
• Experience in the tertiary sector is a plus.
• Working experience in AC Power products and installations, electrotechnical environment, low voltage.
• Experience in the datacenters segment is a plus.
• Experience in quoting/proposing/managing projects.
• Customer/Sales orientation.
• Engineering background or equivalent education. Min Bac+2 in electrical specification.
• Business education/diploma is a plus.
• Ability to understand customers and the VERTIV business environment.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
• Disciplined, self-motivated, proactive and team-player.
• Able to combine long term and short-term goals by setting priorities.
• Planning, organizational, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to agreed timescales.
• Ability to interact with all levels within the organization from entry level to executive.
• Well informed on standards and contractual regulation aspects.
• Experience with Configure-One (C1) and Oracle Sales Cloud is a plus.
• Fluent written and verbal English required.
• Fluent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Increase VERTIV's market share and work to meet/exceed the budget numbers in terms of Orders, Sales, GM/EBITDA in accordance with the company's ethics and guidelines.
• Responsible for sales & profitability level at a national level, and therefore responsible for pricing and bid consistency within the region.
• Consistent promotion of VERTIV's product and service portfolio, engaging with content that is relevant and profiled to the different stakeholders.
• Identification of leads and opportunities for profitable growth in the market.
• Bid activities all along the sale cycle.
• Review requests for quotation (RFQs) and identify customer requirements/specifications.
• Select products and applications based on customer needs.
• Configure product solutions in Configure-One (C1) and other internal tools.
• Prepare best in class customer propositions to generate value and growth.
• Manage commercial negotiations with external and internal stakeholders until close of sale.
• Long-term building and maintaining of customer relationships, working to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, and facilitating a best-in-class customer experience.
• Proactive collaboration with internal stakeholders and colleagues for Team success.
• Creation of Business Development plans and identification of new business models for growth.
• Creation of Account plans, including strategy, pipeline, key activities, customers' internal organization and business models.
• Drive specific marketing activities for VERTIV's products, services and solutions.
• Active monitoring of market trends and competitor's activities.
• Active participation in industry associations and fairs.
• Actively participate in the construction and follow-up of pipeline reviews, orders forecasts and demand generation.
• Utilize reporting and forecasting platforms to facilitate pipeline discipline, pipeline growth, and forecasting accuracy.
• Ensure best-in class level of data quality in the CRM system and other internal tools.
