Overview

As a Cost Manager – MEP at Linesight, you will work on complex data centre construction and critical infrastructure projects, specialising in the commercial and cost management of mechanical and electrical systems. Working alongside experienced, diverse and collaborative teams, you will help deliver critical building services while ensuring cost certainty, commercial control and value for our clients.

Vous serez amené(e) à travailler sur des installations MEP majeures, notamment les réseaux de distribution électrique, les systèmes d’alimentation électrique de secours et les systèmes de refroidissement. Vous développerez ainsi votre expertise technique et commerciale tout au long du cycle de vie des projets.

The Opportunity

In this role you will

• Deliver pre- and post-contract cost management across mechanical and electrical (M&E) packages on data centre construction and other critical infrastructure projects.

• Prepare cost estimates, cost plans and budget forecasts for major M&E installations, including electrical distribution, cooling systems, backup power and associated infrastructure.

• Manage valuations, cost reports, variations and change orders, providing clear commercial visibility and accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support tender and procurement activities, from preparing tender documentation and evaluating submissions to providing recommendations that secure best value for the client.

• Manage contractual and commercial issues, including loss and expense claims, variations and construction disputes, ensuring fair, transparent and timely resolution.

• Assist with the preparation, negotiation and agreement of final accounts, ensuring costs are properly substantiated and contractual obligations are met.

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and clients to support informed decision-making, manage commercial risk and maintain cost control in complex construction environments.

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience in pre- and post-contract cost management, ideally within mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services, data centre construction or other critical infrastructure projects.

• Have a degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or a related construction discipline.

• Understand the commercial and contractual complexities of M&E packages, including procurement, cost forecasting, variations and final accounts.

• Can manage competing priorities, exercise commercial judgement and deliver accurate, timely cost information in a fast-paced project environment.

• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams, communicating clearly and working collaboratively to achieve shared objectives.

• Are willing to travel for short periods to meet clients, partners and colleagues as project requirements dictate.

• English language at a professional level written and spoken is required
