Senior Project Development Manager Solar and Wind

As a Senior PDM, you will have three main roles:



1) Development of Wind and Solar Projects/Portfolio

  • Ensure that a maximum of MWs under development reach RTB
  • Lead the management of portfolio projects under co-development with co-developers or initiated internally by our Origination team, ensuring all development steps are met successfully, on time and on budget
  • For projects developed internally, be responsible for the development of projects from land secured to RTB stage, including their proper integration into the local area, consultation with various local stakeholders, and the launch and monitoring of studies
  • Seek proactive solutions to issues encountered by partners and developers, making clever use of internal and external, resources to solve issues in time
  • Ensure up-to-date and precise reporting of project development to enable top management to make informed decisions
  • Obtain relevant approvals from Management in due time for projects to progress positively
  • Monitor and implement payments
  • Proactively support the Origination team to assess the quality of potential new projects/lands



2) Due Diligence and Portfolio Acquisition/Partnership Negotiation

  • Proactively support due diligence regarding portfolio acquisition and partnership negotiation, bringing in your knowledge of the permitting of Solar and Wind projects to effectively assess the quality of a portfolio



3) Expertise Building of Uniper Renewables Team

  • Participate proactively in building the expertise of the Uniper Renewables team
  • Ensure up-to-date granular knowledge of permitting and dissemination of information to relevant departments of the RES Team
  • Support any transversal subject impacting the overall work and expertise-building of the RES team (e.g., BESS, AgriPV)
  • Liaise closely with the existing Uniper business development team and the whole RES teams (technical department, contract managers, legal and finance department, asset teams, trading/PPAs, finance, and other enabling functions)




Key Skills/Behaviours Required:


Essential:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar role
  • Fluent in French and English; other languages are a plus
  • Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of project development steps including permitting, land contract, grid connection, etc.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven track record of utility-scale solar projects and/or wind projects development/acquisitions/Co-Dev. Partnership
  • Capacity to manage teams in a matrix way (management by influence)
  • Strong project management skills with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Capacity to implement and maintain project management tools ensuring perfect reporting on all aspects of the project including development status and cashflow plans
  • Strong communication skills: effectively communicate needs and wants to a transversal team in an international and multicultural context
  • Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Willingness to travel and work in a diverse multicultural team
  • Driving license required
  • Degree (Master or Diploma) in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or comparable studies

  • Knowledge of the Agrivoltaics context
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent the business and Uniper positively in front of external stakeholders
  • Solution-driven, resilient, and willing to learn continuously
  • Technical expertise in wind onshore and solar
  • Understanding and use of financial tools and concepts
