The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation comprised of 38 member countries, whose mission is to build better policies for better lives. We promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. Together with governments, policy makers and citizens, we work to establish evidence-based international standards, and finding solutions to a broad range of social, economic, and environmental challenges, from the improvement of economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion. We provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.

**Well-Being, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equal Opportunity**

The Centre on Well-Being, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equal Opportunity (WISE) leads co-ordinated, innovative, international action with respect to the OECD’s work on well-being, inclusion, and sustainability, both international and domestic. The Directorate implements the priorities of the Programme of Work and Budget (PWB) set by Member Countries and the Secretary-General in the area of well-being, inclusion, and sustainability. WISE works to devise new and people-centred policy solutions on topics ranging from inequalities of opportunity and poor social mobility to loneliness, low well-being, and mental health.

**Main Responsibilities**

**Leadership**

**_ _**- Contributing to the design, follow up and implementation of the strategic objectives of the Centre.
- Contributing to the design of a research programme to advance a multidimensional approach to well-being; identify key trends, opportunities and challenges in order to support well-being and inclusive growth reform agendas in member and partner countries and to maximise the impact and relevance of the Well-Being Centre’s work.
- Remaining abreast of political and economic developments and track events that may impact on the WISE strategic agenda. Following closely the major policy issues of critical importance to OECD mandates, including horizontal projects and global relations.
- Contributing to the preparations of horizontal outputs and corporate activities, with a focus on those of strategic nature.
- Maintaining close contacts with national delegates, ministries, experts and research bodies to ensure that the policy analysis is relevant and draws on the best available quantitative methodologies.
- Ensuring that the Organisation identifies and gets access to new sources of data of relevance to the analysis of well-being, inclusion and sustainability and provides timely and technically-sound analysis, data, indicators and policy recommendations in areas of policy which affect well-being, inclusion and sustainability.
- Working with other Directorates to promote coherence between approaches to well-being, inclusion and sustainability issues across the house.

**Representation and Liaison**
- Maintain close contacts with Delegations. Develop and foster networks of other relevant partners and ensure adequate information to Delegations and the broader stakeholder community on the OECD contributions. Liaise as required with Ambassadors and officials from Member and non-Member countries.
- Represent the Directorate and the Organisation at internal and external high level meetings, establishing close contacts and active collaboration with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders and partners to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Establish and maintain a network of relationships with other international organisations, national authorities, academia and research institutes and actively contribute to the effective dissemination of the work of the Directorate.
- Actively contribute to the development, promotion and implementation of enhanced engagement with key partners and other non-member economies and “horizontal” (multidisciplinary) work, through policy missions and targeted outreach.
- Replace the Director in his/her absence.

**Management and Co-ordination**
- Actively manage the Directorate’s human capital, through merit-based recruitment processes, professional development, and performance management of its staff.
- Ensure optimal use of resources, skills, and knowledge in support of the Directorate’s business needs. Support the Director of the Centre as well as the Head of Partnership in designing and deploying a successful long-term fund-raising strategy.
