This purpose of this Business Development Representative is:
The Sales Development Representative supports ACI Worldwide revenue growth by identifying, researching, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities for the regional sales team. The role works closely with field marketing, regional sales, account executives, and inside sales leadership to convert campaign interest, event engagement, account-based marketing activity, and outbound prospecting into qualified sales meetings and pipeline opportunities. The role is responsible for disciplined outreach, accurate account and contact mapping, timely lead follow-up, and clear documentation of prospect engagement in customer relationship management systems.
A typical day at ACI for a Business Development Representative is:
Prospecting and Pipeline Development
- Research target accounts, contacts, buying groups, and market triggers to support regional sales and marketing priorities.
- Execute outbound prospecting across email, phone, LinkedIn, and other approved communication channels to generate qualified meetings for sales teams.
- Follow up on marketing-generated leads from campaigns, webinars, events, executive forums, and account-based marketing programs in a timely and structured way.
- Qualify inbound and outbound interest using agreed qualification criteria and route qualified opportunities to the appropriate account executive or sales leader.
- Support account mapping for strategic accounts by identifying relevant decision makers, influencers, business units, and contact gaps.
Campaign and Event Follow-Up
- Partner with field marketing to execute post-campaign and post-event follow-up plans that convert engagement into sales conversations.
- Provide feedback to marketing on messaging, account engagement, lead quality, and common prospect objections observed during outreach.
- Maintain consistent follow-up cadences for priority accounts and high-value leads aligned to campaign objectives and sales priorities.
- Support regional events by helping identify target attendees, confirming prospect interest, and coordinating follow-up actions after the event.
Stakeholder Alignment and Sales Support
- Work closely with account executives and regional sales leadership to align prospecting activity to territory plans, named accounts, and pipeline priorities.
- Prepare concise prospecting notes, meeting context, and account intelligence to support effective handover to sales teams.
- Participate in regular sales and marketing alignment meetings to review progress, priorities, actions, and upcoming campaigns.
- Represent ACI Worldwide professionally in early-stage prospect conversations and ensure accurate positioning of ACI solutions at a high level.
Systems, Reporting, and Data Quality
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts, contacts, activities, lead status, meeting outcomes, and handover notes in customer relationship management systems.
- Track activity and outcome metrics including outreach volume, conversations, meetings booked, qualified leads, response rates, and opportunity progression where applicable.
- Ensure data quality by updating contact details, account intelligence, lead disposition, and campaign attribution accurately.
- Provide regular updates on progress, blockers, and recommended next steps to management, sales, and marketing stakeholders.
