Scientist for Thyroid Organoids Response Analysis

Exposure to ionizing radiation during childhood is a recognized risk factor for thyroid cancer development. However, the impact of low-dose radiation on thyroid health remains unclear. To address this knowledge gap, we are developing an organoid model of human normal thyroid tissue that reproduces the 3D organization of thyroid follicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop protocols to analyze the response of organoids to low doses of ionizing radiation
- Explore key signaling pathways, mitochondrial function, and reactive oxygen species production in organoids after exposure
- Maintain long-term cultures of organoids to analyze their response to ionizing radiation over time
Requirements
- PhD in molecular and cellular biology
- Experience in cell culture and knowledge of molecular mechanisms of cellular response to genotoxic stress
Working Conditions
Occasional remote work possible
Additional Information
The position will be located at the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN), Fontenay-aux-Roses, France. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience according to the IRSN salary grid.
