Investigation of Thyroid Organoids Response to Ionizing Radiation

Scientific Context

Ionizing radiation exposure to the thyroid gland is a recognized risk factor for cancer development, particularly at high doses. However, the impact of low-dose exposure on thyroid organoids remains unclear. To address this knowledge gap, we are seeking a researcher to investigate the effects of ionizing radiation on human thyroid organoids.

Work Context and Objectives

The candidate will be involved in the development of organoid models derived from human normal thyroid tissue, which will be exposed to low doses of ionizing radiation. The goal is to explore the mechanisms underlying radiation-induced thyroid carcinogenesis and to identify potential biomarkers for early detection of cancer.

Expected Outcomes

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop and maintain thyroid organoid models in culture
  • Expose organoids to low doses of ionizing radiation and assess their response
  • Investigate the mechanisms of radiation-induced thyroid carcinogenesis using molecular and cellular biology techniques
  • Collaborate with the laboratory of T. Pourcher to develop metabolomic approaches for biomarker identification
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and administrative authorities
