About the Role

Binance is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in shaping our litigation strategy and providing expert advice to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Litigation Efforts: Oversee the orchestration and resolution of ongoing disputes, ensuring that our interests are protected and our business objectives are met.
  • Develop Legal Strategy: Collaborate with our legal team to develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy that addresses contentious inquiries, litigation issues, and regulatory conundrums.
  • Manage External Counsel: Act as the primary liaison with external legal counsel, navigating negotiations with opposing parties and ensuring that our interests are represented effectively.
  • Provide Strategic Guidance: Deliver proactive, strategic, and commercially viable legal guidance to our internal stakeholders, fostering a comprehensive understanding of complex legal landscapes.
  • Manage Disputes: Head the development and execution of a holistic legal strategy to manage potential disputes, aligning with our broader business objectives.
  • Document Drafting: Take full ownership of the drafting and review process for major litigation and arbitration documents, including discovery responses, dispositive motions, expert reports, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams to provide expert advice on diverse legal matters of varying complexity, sensitivity, and importance.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor to foster the growth of legal acumen across the organization through training sessions designed for business partners and non-legal associates.
  • Risk Management: Prudently identify, manage, and mitigate risks within our broader business framework, advising on and implementing innovative solutions to address identified challenges.
  • Team Operations: Oversee the administrative aspects of our legal team's operations, including billing, contract management, and document control.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years' experience in litigation and investigations, ideally within the technology or financial services sectors.
  • International Experience: Significant international experience (APAC, EMEA) is advantageous.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrate a proven track record in spearheading extensive legal operations and managing high-stakes litigation.
  • Language Skills: Possess excellent mastery of the English language, both in written and spoken form.
  • Additional Languages: Proficiency in other European languages will be considered an asset.
  • Adaptability: Manifest the ability to excel in a high-intensity, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility in managing multiple high-priority tasks concurrently.
  • Regulatory Experience: Experience in dealing effectively with regulatory inquiries, processing information requests, and leading investigations is a significant advantage.
  • Cryptocurrency Knowledge: Display a keen interest in the cryptocurrency industry and its evolving landscape.
  • Business Acumen: Exhibit solid legal technical expertise coupled with astute business acumen and people management skills.
  • Independence: Demonstrate a hands-on approach to work, showcasing independence in steering complex project management.
  • Innovation: Have the ability to ideate and implement innovative solutions to manage risks and navigate disputes.
  • Legal Drafting: Possess excellent legal drafting abilities and strong skills in interpreting diverse legal documents and laws.
