We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at XL Catlin. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support to our underwriting teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to underwriting teams on complex insurance matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, risk managers, and other legal professionals.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal issues and provide well-reasoned recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with external counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance law and regulations, and provide training and guidance to colleagues on new developments.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- 8-10 years of experience as a lawyer, either in-house or in private practice.
- Master's degree in private law, preferably with a focus on insurance law.
- Specialized knowledge of insurance law, including global programs expertise, and related litigations.
- Fluency in French and English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
