INRIA is seeking a talented researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative multi-drone systems for cable-suspended load transportation.

This research position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of robotics, tackling challenging problems in perception, control, and human-robot interaction.

Research Focus Areas
  • Perception and Localization: This project aims to develop robust onboard drone vision systems for relative localization between drones, the suspended platform, and the overall system. We will explore distributed approaches based on Control Barrier Functions to address the limitations of individual camera fields of view.
  • Robust and Online Motion Generation: The research will leverage Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) techniques to generate feasible motion plans for multi-drone systems while considering constraints related to perception, actuation, geometry, and stability. A key focus will be on developing aggressive maneuvers that minimize task completion time and dampen load oscillations.
  • Human-Multi-Drone Interaction: This aspect of the research will investigate shared control techniques to enable intuitive human interaction with the multi-drone system. The goal is to allow operators to provide high-level commands while the NMPC algorithm generates feasible motion plans, fostering effective collaboration between humans and robots.

Remuneration
