Transdev is seeking a Global Safety Director to lead our commitment to Zero Harm across all operations worldwide.
Reporting directly to the Group Operations & Technical Officer, you will spearhead a team of safety experts dedicated to elevating Transdev's safety culture and performance within the public transportation industry.
Your Mission:
- Cultivate a robust safety strategy and culture that permeates all countries and business units within Transdev.
- Remain at the forefront of industry best practices, ensuring Transdev leverages cutting-edge knowledge, tools, and processes to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Foster a thriving community of international safety professionals by promoting collaboration, sharing best practices, and supporting local initiatives.
- Champion Transdev's Health and Safety policy, maintain the effectiveness of our Safety Management System (SMS), establish minimum standards, and benchmark performance against industry leaders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of safety experts, empowering them to achieve both individual and organizational goals.
- Provide strategic guidance and support for critical bids, contributing to the development of compelling safety narratives and case studies.
- Collaborate effectively with other teams within Operations and Strategy & Transformation, fostering a culture of synergy and cooperation.
- Oversee quarterly and annual reporting at the Group level, including NFDP analysis, tracking historical trends, and proposing corrective actions. Contribute to the transition towards CSRD safety reporting standards.
- Advise the Executive Committee on Transdev's overall safety performance, developing initiatives that elevate our position as an industry leader in safety.
- Organize the Major Accident Committee, ensuring the dissemination of lessons learned and the implementation of follow-up activities.
- Conduct regular Level 2 safety audits across businesses globally, verifying compliance with local laws and regulations and upholding Transdev's commitment to safety excellence.
- Support organizational change by identifying and communicating safety implications, assisting local teams in embedding processes and procedures.
- Lead the organization of the annual safety seminar for Transdev's safety professionals and the Group's annual safety award ceremony.
- Collaborate closely with the Group's Security team to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management.
Your Profile:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Law, or Business Administration.
- Proven experience as a senior leader for the safety function within a large organization.
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the transportation industry.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel frequently and engage with stakeholders across all 19 countries where Transdev operates.
