Lead Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Location Lead to join our team at Colt Technology Services. As a key member of our Delivery Team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a multi-disciplinary technical and design management team in France, delivering multiple Hyperscale data centre projects.
You will be accountable for ensuring the technical delivery of these projects, adhering to Colt's design standards and requirements, and collaborating with external engineering consultants and contractors to meet programme, design, and budget objectives.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of design consultants appointments and processes, as well as experience in delivery of mission-critical engineering, built environment design processes, and MEP strategies and technologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of design managers and engineers to deliver multiple projects
- Ensuring technical delivery of projects, adhering to Colt's design standards and requirements
- Collaborating with external engineering consultants and contractors to meet programme, design, and budget objectives
- Developing and implementing design programmes to ensure on-time creation and review of Employer's Requirements (ER's), tender information, and design documentation
- Steering and guiding external design consultants and contractors to ensure they deliver designs that meet the requirements of the Design Brief
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with substantial experience in the built environment engineering industry, including commissioning, qualification, and change control activities related to electrical systems, life safety, and fire protection.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the digital environment, including BIM, levels of development in design and technology, and site planning and interdependent disciplines.
