Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement activities ensuring alignment with corporate policies and standards.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that deliver high customer service levels while optimizing costs.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to create cohesive supply chain solutions.
- Manage the departmental budget effectively.
- Maintain procurement documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure supplier adherence to Zimmer Biomet standards.
- Address and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Work with European/Global procurement teams to understand cross-functional commodity needs, analyzing costs, logistics, quality, and user requirements to make informed recommendations.
- Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet delivery expectations.
- Prepare analytical reports and forecasts for stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze data to influence decisions regarding sourcing strategies.
- Proactively identify potential issues affecting business operations and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Assess team performance against established objectives and provide constructive feedback.
- Utilize metrics and performance reviews to enhance supplier performance.
Qualifications
- Proficient understanding of planning and purchasing systems, manufacturing processes, and budgeting practices.
- Ability to generate actionable insights from ERP system outputs.
- Strong skills in spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) along with ERP systems experience.
- Self-motivated team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in contract negotiations and project management.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels and external partners.
- Ability to manage complex challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement/Sourcing.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, both collaboratively and independently.
- Understanding of purchasing legalities, including contract law, with international exposure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing practices and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership and ethical business practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in MS Office and ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred.
