Job Title: Group Sales and Events Manager

Job Summary:

The Group Sales and Events Manager is responsible for driving Groups & MICE sales and delivering a client-focused service that achieves business revenue objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Event Planning function and related staff to ensure successful hotel events.
  • Develop a flexible sales strategy to reflect hotel budget commitments and respond to local market conditions.
  • Ensure products and services meet or exceed guest expectations and build customer loyalty through product and service excellence.
  • Take a proactive sales approach and adapt sales solutions to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Manage online meeting partner websites, including photos, descriptions, and promotions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and record findings on a regular basis.
  • Ensure efficient management of enquiries, turn-downs, and lost business to create future pipeline and repeat business.
  • Manage daily operations to achieve or exceed budget expectations, monitor wages and expenses, and provide excellent critiques for financial expenditure and departmental performance.
  • Develop relationships with local clients, direct bookers, and agency bookers to ensure a strong base of new and regular repeat business.
  • Accurately identify customer needs, draw up well-presented and customized proposals, and promote, manage, and host regular client FAM trips and show rounds.
  • Be a key contact for the head office MICE sales team and ensure timely responses to enquiries and RFPs.
  • Set, monitor, and review personnel objectives and supervise billing, payment guarantees, credit policy, and deposits.

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
