Job Overview

This role of in-house lawyer will closely partner with the business to support the operations of IQVIA France, advising local and international colleagues on contractual and legal matters, including IP, privacy, liability, commercial terms, ethics, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts for consulting, clinical research, and Real World studies, data supply, and software services in the pharma/lifescience industry.
  • Ensure contracts comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, especially those surrounding personal data.
  • Protect the company's interests and negotiate smoothly with clients and partners.

Legal Advisory

  • Provide expert legal advice to colleagues on contractual and legal matters, such as engagement of French healthcare professionals, warranties, and disputes.
  • Guide colleagues through the contractualization process.

Process Optimization

  • Develop memos, newsletters, and training sessions to enhance colleagues' understanding of legal processes and contractual obligations.
  • Streamline contract negotiation processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Work with stakeholders, including subject matter experts, external law firms, Data Protection Officer, compliance officers, and finance teams.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to resolve legal issues effectively.

Agile Working

  • Embrace an agile working approach to adapt to the fast-paced environment and evolving business needs, regulatory requirements, and IT tools.
  • Implement innovative solutions to streamline legal processes and enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of general corporate law experience.
  • Previous experience in a legal sub-specialty, such as licensing and intellectual property, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, civil litigation, employment, etc.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, creative and pragmatic problem-solving skills, business acumen, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
