We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our Acoustic and Cognitive Spaces team at IRCAM. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel concepts for producing and disseminating audio-augmented live performances.
Project OverviewThe CONTINUUM project aims to create a comprehensive production framework for immersive audio/video content, enabling the creation and delivery of high-quality experiences across various user platforms and playback configurations.
Job Responsibilities- Design and develop active acoustic reverberation systems
- Perform numerical simulations to optimize audio signal processing algorithms
- Experimentally validate developed systems in the variable acoustic concert hall at IRCAM
- Develop and conduct perceptual experiments in various environments
- Contribute to the integration of the active reverberation module into real-time spatialization environments
- Participate in the writing of scientific articles and technical reports
- PhD in a relevant field with a strong component in 3D audio
- Excellent knowledge of audio signal processing and room acoustics
- Strong experience in multi-channel audio practices and programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and Max
- Practical experience with acoustic measurement instruments and good experience in critical listening
- Excellent skills in scientific communication and ability to work independently and in a team
