Job Title: Retail Category Strategist

Campari France, a prominent subsidiary of Campari Group, excels in the distribution of a diverse array of premium spirits, wines, and champagnes within the French market. Renowned for its global reach, Campari France is dedicated to providing outstanding brands to its consumers.

Job Overview:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational execution and management of product categories (wines/spirits) across designated retail locations.
  • Formulate category strategies in partnership with store managers to ensure the effective implementation of operational initiatives and adherence to the company's commercial guidelines.
  • Recommend internal corrective measures for clients as necessary.
  • Collaborate with store managers on the management of category budgets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Retail/Category Assessment:

  • Conduct market assessments for assigned retail locations.
  • Perform category evaluations within stores.
  • Analyze competitor activities.
  • Evaluate performance metrics by category and brand.
  • Analyze operational growth opportunities.

2. Development and Execution of Operational Strategies:

  • Provide recommendations for product assortments.
  • Develop innovative strategies.
  • Plan promotional activities.
  • Design merchandising approaches.
  • Establish pricing strategies.

3. Client Engagement:

  • Organize client meetings based on category insights.
  • Negotiate action plans with clients.
  • Continuously monitor and assess plans with clients.

4. Oversight and Evaluation:

  • Facilitate internal communication regarding store-related data.
  • Monitor performance across categories, brands, and clients.
  • Report findings to management.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Category Manager in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Familiarity with distribution channels and competitive landscape.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate a sense of accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
