About the Role

Altrad is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nuclear Systems Engineer to join our team in the nuclear industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems used in nuclear facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Development
  • Design and develop systems for nuclear facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Perform detailed engineering analyses and simulations to validate system performance.
  • Implementation and Integration
  • Oversee the installation and integration of new systems within existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless integration of systems with other operational components and processes.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for nuclear systems.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades and modifications to enhance performance and safety.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to system performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system designs, modifications, and performance.
  • Project Management
  • Manage system engineering projects from conception through completion.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Conduct risk assessments for system designs and modifications.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure system safety and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for improving system performance and efficiency.
  • Implement innovative solutions and best practices to optimize system operations.
  • Training and Development
  • Provide training and support to staff on system operations and maintenance.
  • Stay current with advancements in nuclear system technologies and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Communicate system performance, issues, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in system engineering, preferably within the nuclear industry or a related high-tech sector.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in system design tools and methodologies.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
    • Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
