The nuclear defense industry plays a crucial role in ensuring national safety and strategic stability. It presents dynamic and rewarding career paths for individuals dedicated to supporting the country's defense and security initiatives. We are in search of a highly qualified and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to become a part of our team within the nuclear sector. The selected candidate will oversee the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of mechanical systems in our nuclear facilities. This position is essential for guaranteeing the reliability, safety, and compliance of our mechanical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical System Design and Development:
Direct the design and development of mechanical systems and components for nuclear facilities, ensuring adherence to safety, performance, and regulatory standards. - Project Management:
Oversee mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets. - Maintenance and Reliability:
Formulate and execute maintenance strategies to guarantee the reliability and durability of mechanical systems. Perform failure analysis and implement corrective measures to avert recurrence. - Technical Leadership:
Offer technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and technical personnel. Conduct technical reviews and design assessments to uphold high engineering quality standards. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all mechanical engineering tasks comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations. Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports to regulatory authorities. - Safety and Risk Management:
Carry out risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems. Implement safety protocols and procedures to safeguard personnel and equipment. - Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for enhancing mechanical system performance and efficiency. Apply innovative solutions and best practices to improve operational effectiveness. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of designs, maintenance activities, and system performance. Generate reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. - Stakeholder Communication:
Effectively communicate with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding mechanical engineering activities. Provide technical support and guidance to other engineering teams and departments. - Training and Development:
Design and deliver training programs for engineering personnel on mechanical systems and best practices. Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering and nuclear industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng)) is preferred. - Experience:
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in the nuclear industry or a related high-tech sector. - Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Expertise in project management and technical leadership.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
