POSITION OVERVIEW

The individual in this role is tasked with the vital function of student recruitment. This includes the formulation and execution of marketing, communication, and recruitment strategies that directly contribute to the attainment of the University’s enrollment objectives. While a significant portion of the responsibilities involves outreach beyond the campus, the individual will also engage in recruitment and liaison activities on campus, such as campus tours, responding to inquiries via phone and email, conducting online information sessions, and ensuring student enrollment following admission offers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities associated with this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  1. Lead the recruitment initiatives for AUP
    As a member of the University’s recruitment team, the individual will spearhead efforts to attract prospective students, generating qualified inquiries and applications across various student categories (first-year, transfer, visiting/COOP, summer, and graduate) in alignment with established targets. Achieving these objectives will involve diverse marketing activities, fostering relationships in designated country markets, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  2. Represent the University on a global and local scale
    The individual will represent the University at a variety of events, including school visits, educational fairs, and exhibitions, as well as conducting individual meetings with schools, colleges, universities, and other stakeholders. In this capacity, the individual is expected to cultivate meaningful relationships with all relevant parties that facilitate successful student recruitment. Significant national and international travel is a fundamental aspect of this role.
  3. Support current AUP students wishing to continue their studies
    The individual will oversee all currently enrolled students at AUP who wish to remain at the University. This primarily involves two distinct groups: those categorized as visitors interested in extending their stay or transitioning to degree-seeking status, and undergraduate students aiming to continue their education at AUP through the University’s BA/MA pathway. This responsibility necessitates prompt responses to inquiries and face-to-face interactions with students.
  4. Manage pre-application inquiries
    Collaborating with colleagues in similar roles, the individual will handle all pre-application inquiries directed to AUP through the CRM system, in addition to telephone and in-person contacts. Queries will be addressed using standardized responses tailored to the nature of the inquiry. Efficient and timely responses are essential during this phase, organized on a rota basis according to workload and seasonal demands.
  5. Develop operational plans for recruitment territories
    The individual will create and implement tailored operational plans that yield students across all categories (first-year, transfer, visiting/COOP, summer, and graduate) in accordance with agreed-upon targets. For each designated country or territory, the individual will formulate strategies, in collaboration with relevant colleagues, encompassing electronic and social media, print materials, advertising, and engagement with third-party agencies to drive inquiries and applications to AUP.
  6. Manage post-offer communications and yield activities
    As part of the Student Recruitment Team, the individual will oversee the relationship between AUP and students who have received admission offers until they are officially enrolled. This involves managing a specific group of students and working diligently to ensure their confirmation and enrollment at AUP. Success in this area is measured through conversion rates and related data.
  7. Conduct market intelligence and awareness
    The individual will maintain a strong awareness of trends and developments in all country markets for which they are responsible. This includes compiling a list of resources for regular reference, attending relevant meetings and conferences, participating in update meetings within the Admissions Office, engaging with academic colleagues at AUP, and maintaining a network of contacts.
  8. Create a robust network across the AUP campus
    The individual will develop and sustain a network across the AUP campus to enhance student recruitment efforts. This includes collaboration with administrative and academic staff, as well as various student organizations active on campus.
  9. Foster a collaborative Team ethic
    The individual, along with colleagues, will contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a collaborative Team environment. While responsibilities are clearly defined, each member of the Student Recruitment Team is expected to cultivate a working knowledge of all areas of activity for which the Team is accountable.
  10. Support the overarching mission of the Admissions Office
    The individual may be called upon to assist with activities related to all facets of student recruitment and admissions, as determined by the Vice President and Director of Enrollment Management. Such support may be influenced by factors such as seasonal demands, workload of other Teams, absences, and changes in the external environment.
