Join Our Team
We are on the lookout for a Litigation Counsel with a strong background in accounts receivable and vehicle return processes to enhance our legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will encompass two primary domains: process management and operational oversight.
1. Process Management:
- Examine contracts (including lease agreements with clients and service contracts with debt collection agencies) and internal policies to safeguard the company against client insolvency and vehicle non-return.
- Ensure that all contracts and policies are legally robust and comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Advise internal teams on contract stipulations and procedures related to accounts receivable and vehicle returns.
- Stay informed about consumer protection laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
2. Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the legal aspects of vehicle returns, including lease terminations, damage claims, and dispute resolution.
- Support accounts receivable operations, including following up with delinquent clients and managing external debt collection agencies.
- Collaborate with debt collection agencies and/or external legal counsel as necessary to address complex legal matters concerning accounts receivable and vehicle returns.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align accounts receivable and vehicle return strategies with broader business goals.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to accounts receivable and vehicle returns as required.
Qualifications:
- Master of Laws or equivalent advanced legal degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Proven experience with enforcement procedures and litigation, particularly in debt recovery.
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws, with a preference for familiarity with French regulations.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; proficiency in German is an advantage.
- Experience in the automotive or digital sectors is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.
- Consideration of financial implications, risks, and business impacts while working within budget constraints.
