Psychiatric Admissions Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Admissions Coordinator to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient intake process for patients seeking psychiatric care.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough and empathetic interviews with patients and their families to gather essential clinical and demographic information.
- Review and verify patient insurance coverage and financial information to ensure accurate billing and precertification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in EPIC, our electronic health record system.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, nursing).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in mental health care, with a focus on admissions and triage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency in EPIC and Microsoft Teams, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
