The TMT&H sector team at ING Wholesale Banking is a global specialist team that provides banking services and complex financial solutions to telecommunication, media, entertainment, technology, satellite, healthcare, and pharmaceutical companies in the EMEA region, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific.

As the Head of TMT&H, you will be responsible for the commercial and financial performance of the TMT&H team in France, working in concert with Functional, WB France, and Risk guidelines. Your direct reports will be the bankers within the TMT&H team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Steer and coordinate the Bankers' activities and financial results.

• Accountable for P&L, Economic Profit, Risk/Return, Portfolio management, and Client Experience.

• Responsible for sales force effectiveness and commercial ambition of the team.

• Acts as 'player-coach': relationship banker for selected client relationships, whilst steering the client interactions across the wider client portfolio.

Contribute to Strategy Development and Execution:

• Contribute to WB France strategy and execution as part of the local management team.

• Contribute to the TMT&H commercial strategies, target setting, client marketing, and business initiatives, whilst operating within Credit & Non-Financial Risk appetite.

• Identify and act on commercial growth opportunities, including event-driven, advisory, sustainability, and outbound business development.

Coordinate Knowledge Sharing, Deal Replication, and Commercial Collaboration:

• Develop and coordinate knowledge sharing and cross-fertilization within the TMT&H team and across the other Sectors and Product teams within WB France and the wider WB.

• Foster a culture of client-centricity, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.

• Develop sales excellence, talents, and a high-performance culture in the team.

People Perspective for TMT&H:

• Act as people manager for the TMT&H team.

• Ensure x-fertilization by moving talent and giving people stretch roles and assignments.

• Identify and take initiatives to optimize the client portfolios and client account allocations.

• Ensure a culture of diversity and inclusiveness, in support of growing a profitable business.

Requirements:

• Experienced banker with 12-15 years of client coverage and corporate banking experience, with a commercial and team leadership track-record and fluency in French and English written and spoken languages.

• Strong experience in the French TMT market is required.

  • Leadership and relationship skills to set-up, steer, unify, and engage the TMT&H team and interact with stakeholders, earning trust and respect of clients, management, and colleagues.
  • Robust WB product knowledge, combined with transaction and credit structuring experience.
  • Established internal WB network; presence of an external/client network is a positive.
  • Ability to synthesize strategic thinking with planning and execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial skills: seeks constant renewal and has ability to bring an outside-in perspective.
  • Proficiency to handle both Financial and NFR aspects of client franchise (as 1st line of defence).
  • International experience and cultural adaptability.
