Job Description
The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to all clients (internal and external) in the handling of incidents at levels 2 and 3 of support. They will provide technical assistance to our clients, as well as tailored solutions to their incidents. When necessary, they will manage the escalation of incidents/problems to the development service and/or other competent services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage incidents in accordance with ITIL processes – from initial handling by level 2 to providing a satisfactory resolution.
- Communicate internally and externally, and regularly inform the client and other stakeholders of the progress of incident handling.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs to reduce the risk of the company being subject to penalties.
- Maintain and document an internal knowledge base to facilitate the transfer of skills within the department and facilitate the consideration of this information by level 1 (when applicable).
- Take charge of installing, configuring, and preventive maintenance of systems for our clients to assist them in the context of our contractual obligations and to meet system performance objectives.
- Ensure the application of all company procedures and charts (including procedures related to incident, problem, change, and delivery management) – All members of the support team must be aware of and apply these procedures.
- Work in total collaboration with all development teams and ensure the proper dissemination of information to all teams.
- Ensure the proper use of client support systems within the group and that incidents/alerts are handled properly – to provide a high level of customer satisfaction and limit the number of incidents with resolution times not in line with the expected performance level by our clients.
- Use reporting tools, completing them appropriately, and ensure that incident management corresponds to the procedures in place.
- Act as a member of the global community and actively participate by making suggestions to improve the overall quality and efficiency of the Customer Service.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Knowledge and practical experience in using application tools suitable for this position, such as SQL, Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, etc….
- Ability to work independently and take initiatives, as well as teamwork.
- Ability to resolve incidents and problems through an analytical approach.
- Organized and able to manage priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Mastery of MS Office and similar tools.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ITIL (ITIL certification would be appreciated).
- Skills in databases – particularly database administration.
- Sensitivity to software development.
- Knowledge of other European languages.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar position within a support environment – ideally for a duration of at least 2 years (5 years would be a plus).
Desirable:
- Knowledge of third-party applications (e.g. Splunk, UCD, etc..).
