Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Presales Specialist to join our Hub Europe Pre-Sales Team at Hitachi Energy. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying and seizing new market opportunities within the distribution automation sector, working closely with local sales teams. If you have a solid understanding of Protection & Control applications relevant to Electric Distribution utilities, along with a foundational knowledge of Ethernet communication and Cyber Security principles in the industry, we would love to hear from you.

This position offers flexibility in location. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every requirement. The most important qualities for this role are your personality and eagerness to learn and explore new domains. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical pre-sales support and expertise to enhance the sales team's efforts.
  • Maintain specialized product knowledge in a specific product or product line.
  • Conduct comprehensive presentations and product demonstrations for clients and sales representatives.
  • Demonstrate some capability in the installation aspects of product/service solutions and develop prototypes to showcase the feasibility of product solutions.
  • Offer customer support to resolve client issues related to product and service usage.
  • Engage in customer interactions such as demonstrations, proof of concepts, and presentations.
  • Be prepared to travel 20 to 40 days annually within the Hub Europe area for customer visits and demonstrations, both virtually and in person.

Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • An active, energetic, and open-minded approach is essential.
  • Experience in B2B pre-sales or Technical Project roles within Distribution Utilities, along with some customer engagement experience, is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, along with a willingness to learn, are important.
  • Ideally, you should have experience with Protection & Control applications for Electric Distribution Utilities or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • An international business background is considered beneficial.
