The PhD in Management, INSEAD's flagship doctoral program, is seeking 16-18 candidates for the upcoming intake. We welcome individuals who are enthusiastic about research and aspire to build a successful career in business academia as management scholars. The program offers specializations in various fields including Accounting and Control, Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and Technology and Operations Management. Each specialization offers a stimulating and rigorous environment for students to engage in intensive research training and produce high-quality scholarly work.
We encourage applicants from all backgrounds. While prior research experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We seek individuals motivated by a singular ambition: to embark on a rewarding career in business academia and contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge through their research. The application process is designed to be straightforward, and we invite all interested candidates to consider applying.
All admitted students, regardless of their nationality or background, receive funding for the initial five years of the program, with the possibility of annual renewal based on satisfactory academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct original and high-caliber research in their selected area of specialization.
- Collaborate with faculty on various research initiatives.
- Contribute to the academic community through publications and presentations at scholarly conferences.
- Engage in courses and training to enhance both research and teaching capabilities.
- Assist in educational activities, including tutorials and workshops.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree (3-year bachelor's is acceptable), even if outside of business, provided there is a keen interest in applying prior knowledge to the chosen specialization. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Strong academic performance and analytical abilities.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to pursuing an academic career in their chosen field.

Applicants must prepare the following for their portfolio:
- Curriculum vitae (CV), detailing educational and professional history.
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) outlining research interests, aspirations, and motivations for applying to INSEAD, potentially including future collaboration with faculty.
- Academic transcripts from relevant institutions (officially translated to English if necessary).
- Three letters of recommendation, ideally including at least one from an academic referee; industry references are also acceptable.
- A valid GMAT or GRE score (less than five years old; both classic and new editions accepted).
- The TOEFL test is required for applicants whose native language is not English, although it may be waived if one of the degrees was taught exclusively in English.
- A recorded interview will follow the submission of the online application.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a live interview at a later stage.
