The Relationship Manager is a key ambassador for ING Bank N.V., responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining profitable multi-products relationships with prospects and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Execute the bank's growth plan by onboarding new French corporates (turnover > €750m) in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Lead and execute the commercial strategy in coordination with key internal stakeholders (sector, products, countries, and management).
- Develop long-term relationships with prospects and clients by leveraging and marketing ING's differentiators: sector expertise, international network, and sustainability-linked transactions.
- Manage financial and non-financial risks (including KYCs) on the client portfolio.
- Promote ING Corporate Banking capabilities and visibility in France, supporting the origination of business for lending services, financial markets, transaction services, and developing fee business in DCM, ECM, debt advisory, and M&A.
- Grow a strategic dialogue with clients' decision-makers (CEO, CFO, Group treasurer) and take active/lead roles as advisor or coordinator.
- Prepare and maintain client commercial plans in close cooperation with product specialists and ING network offices, ensuring overall business profitability.
- Grow sector expertise and connect with local/central sector teams to share and align on strategic direction.
- Share lessons learned and best practices within the team and with local, sector, and other virtual teams.
- Define a structured commercial plan for each prospect/client by identifying critical business issues and opportunities in line with local strategy.
- Assess credit risk to select the right clients/business, propose the right deal structure to minimize risk, and seize capital allocation.
- Obtain concrete commitment from clients to deliver on promises within a reasonable timeframe.
- Coordinate and embark various teams towards shared objectives from pitching to deal execution and implementation.
- Lead the commercial approval process and align internal stakeholders.
- Provide relevant commercial input on credit applications, modifications, and reviews to ensure smooth deal execution.
- Follow up on deal execution by middle/back office.
- Manage compliance risk and comply with applicable laws, regulations, ING Bank policies, and standards.
- Behave strictly in adherence with The Orange Code.
