The RoleWe are seeking a Head of Data Engineering to lead our data strategy and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and delivering our data engineering, data governance, and data science roadmap.
Key Responsibilities- Craft and own the data engineering, data science, and data governance roadmap, aligning high-priority projects with cross-functional partners.
- Lead a team of engineers and analysts, fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders to execute the strategy effectively.
- Implement and take forward our data governance strategy, ensuring the security and integrity of our data.
- Develop short and long-term strategies to enhance revenue growth and preserve overall platform value.
- Partner closely with product, operations, and revenue teams to help their analysts develop strategies aimed at improving user experience and overall marketplace performance.
- Proven track record in leading and managing diverse data teams, including data engineers, and analysts.
- Demonstrated ability to drive a data strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Strong people management skills with a focus on fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Deep knowledge of data engineering, data science, and business intelligence tools and methodologies.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Knowledge of ML model frameworks, tuning, and productionisation.
- Ability to lead initiatives that safeguard data integrity and promote best practices across the organisation.
