The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Data Center Operations Security Team is in search of a highly skilled and driven Physical Security Program Director (SPD) to enhance our operations.

This role entails the design, installation, and integration of security systems, encompassing Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV Surveillance systems.
The ideal candidate will possess the capability to engage in all relevant disciplines, from technology research to system design and layout, overseeing construction and implementation, as well as maintenance and upgrades throughout the system's lifecycle. A deep understanding of security technology, innovation, and exceptional organizational skills are essential, along with a proven track record of delivering results on schedule and within budget.
The SPD is a vital member of the EMEA Security team and reports directly to the in-country Cluster Security Manager. This position oversees compliance with physical security standards, manages Physical Security Projects, participates in cross-functional teams, and is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of Physical Security.
The success of the SPD will be evaluated based on their contributions to the development, implementation, and commissioning of standardized security infrastructure systems for the AWS region. Performance will be assessed against agreed-upon objectives and metrics in key areas such as customer service quality, access control efficiency, and the safeguarding of customer data, employees, and visitors. This role is responsible for adhering to Physical Security Standards and Programs that align with the objectives of the Global Physical Security Team while enabling local site managers to utilize related services independently.
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In essence, we are the team that ensures the cloud remains operational. We support all AWS data centers and manage the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that guarantee our customers continuous access to the innovations they depend on. We tackle the most complex challenges, with numerous variables influencing the supply chain – and we seek talented individuals who are eager to contribute.
You will collaborate with a diverse group of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security professionals, operations managers, and other essential roles. Together, we will uphold the highest standards for safety and security while delivering seemingly limitless capacity at the most competitive cost for our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and implementing solutions for system installations, upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
- Ensuring adherence to physical security project standards, project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of regional and/or global physical security systems in a dynamic environment.
- Effectively prioritizing tasks and ensuring smooth operations across organizational boundaries.
- Supporting the commissioning of security system equipment.
- Conducting final testing and acceptance of security systems.
- Executing and coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs for security system equipment.
- Developing and implementing training programs for all users of physical security systems.
Basic Qualifications
– 5-12 years of experience in managing the operation and installation of regional and/or global physical security systems.
– Proven experience as a Physical Security Program Manager for large and complex installations.
– Advanced knowledge and experience within the Security Integrator Industry.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPP, PSP, or CISSP Certification.
• Strong expertise in Security Systems Design.
• Certification in LenelS2 Access Control Systems.
• Extensive background in corporate security and workplace safety.
