Position: Participation in the Melting Pote initiative
Overview:
Engage in the Melting Pote initiative at Service Civique, which unites 10 individuals proficient in French and familiar with the local culture, alongside 10 others who are in the process of acquiring French language skills (allophone) and understanding social norms. Collaborate on community service projects.
Your Civic Engagement Role
Goals:
This role aims to achieve two primary objectives:
Assist Romani and refugee youth in their societal integration and enhance their French language proficiency.
Empower all participants to undertake community service projects aimed at supporting individuals facing hardship.
Key Activities:
- Conducting French language workshops for allophone youth
- Distributing food through various charitable organizations
- Engaging with Romani and Ukrainian children and adults, including preparation time
- Providing tutoring for Romani youth
- Facilitating team-building activities and meetings
- Repair Lab: Fixing equipment
- And numerous other ongoing initiatives
Your Work Environment
Essential Training:
Training related to the activities, such as facilitation techniques and food-related topics.
Mentorship and Support:
Regular team meetings and daily assistance on tasks, either in-person or remotely. Guidance for future initiatives.
Hosting Organization and Practical Information:
Service Civique is a leading organization for civic engagement in France. They provide young individuals aged 16 to 25, from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, the chance to participate full-time in collaborative projects of public interest for a duration of 6 to 9 months.
