The GE Vernova Supply Chain Operations team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Remedial Operations Manager to lead the management of environmental risk across the company's global footprint. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the remediation of contaminated sites, developing and implementing risk management strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement remediation plans for contaminated sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Manage and coordinate consultant teams to generate project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports.
- Provide strategic oversight and direction to project managers, ensuring timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, controllership, business leadership, EHS, and legal, to ensure effective project execution and risk management.
- Develop and maintain technical standards to guide and inform GE Vernova's approach to managing remedial project risks.
- Establish and maintain standard operational systems to support all aspects of the GE Vernova remedial portfolio.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years' applied project management experience in environmental, remediation, and/or EHS within a company, regulatory agency, and/or consulting firm.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing complex remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, and soil vapor issues, including experience with PCBs, hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate consultant teams to generate project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports.
- Experience preparing financial estimations and planning necessary for long-term remedial projects.
- General familiarity with relevant environmental issues and considerations related to historical and current manufacturing and energy operations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (oral/written) skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills within diverse teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, financial, reputational, and legal considerations for complex projects.
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude to understand and articulate complicated trade-offs.
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience working cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations and ability to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally (~30% travel).
- Proficiency with MS Office Programs, including Microsoft Excel.
- English proficiency.
- Graduate degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, business, or relevant related discipline.
- Highly collaborative person with outstanding communication skills.
- Familiarity with LEAN principals.
- Strategic and flexible thinker who uses a 360-degree perspective to assess risks.
