As the Chief People Officer at Le Wagon, your primary responsibility will be to craft and implement a comprehensive global people strategy, ensuring that our team members (180+ Wagoners across more than 10 countries) feel empowered to maintain Le Wagon's esteemed reputation as a leading tech training provider while enjoying their journey with us and fostering their personal development.

Reporting directly to the COO and overseeing a team of four (Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Internal Communications, and Employer Branding), your role will be pivotal in achieving operational excellence and collaborating with the business to unlock future growth opportunities for Le Wagon. This position presents a unique chance for a seasoned People leader to build upon a solid foundation.

Your Responsibilities as Chief People Officer include:

People Strategy & Leadership

  • Formulate and execute a holistic people strategy that aligns with Le Wagon's growth and long-term goals.
    • Manage the People Budget and establish related guidelines (e.g., travel and team-building policies, IT resources, etc.).
    • Prioritize People Projects to enhance an innovative yet robust People structure, ensuring an exceptional employee experience for Wagoners.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align people initiatives with business objectives and ensure effective communication of key messages to employees.
  • Address sensitive communications and provide leadership guidance on change management.

People Processes and Stakeholder Support

  • Oversee essential people processes such as Compensation Review, Variable Pay, and Performance Review, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared prior to each key process rollout.
    • Compensation Review: Define budget, applicable policies, and processes; distribute documentation and tools for collecting compensation requests; facilitate arbitration at the executive level; and communicate outcomes to employees.
    • Variable Pay: Establish policy and implement variable plans annually (including process documentation, manager coaching, and employee communication).
    • Performance Review: Own the process and tools, define applicable procedures, and support managers and employees throughout all phases.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and action planning.
  • Manage employee disputes and offer one-on-one coaching on various topics as needed.
  • Assist the People Team in training and development initiatives to foster growth among our Wagoners (skills assessment, learning and development, career pathways, etc.).

Employee Relations:

  • Collaborate with local legal advisors as necessary to address complex situational issues and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • In France:
    • Set the agenda for our three CSE committees (in partnership with the founder and General Counsel) and provide all required data.

Payroll:

  • Supervise global payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
    • This primarily involves supporting the People Operations Manager in preparing and executing payroll across all our countries.
    • For France, you will directly manage more complex payroll matters with our external payroll provider.

Leading the People Team:

  • Define the priorities for the People Team, aligning with the roadmap you will oversee and execute.
  • Support Talent Acquisition in structuring processes to ensure Le Wagon provides an exceptional candidate experience and successfully hires the best talent for our roles.
  • Assist People Operations in delivering accurate and timely payroll each month, maximizing the use of our tools (BambooHR) to maintain a detailed and precise overview of our employees, while clarifying operational processes (e.g., time off, benefits, perks) to ensure a seamless experience at Le Wagon.
  • Promote Internal Communication and knowledge sharing to foster transparency and open dialogue within Le Wagon, while enhancing every Wagoner's growth by showcasing their expertise.
