Job Title: System and Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled System and Infrastructure Manager to join our APAC IT organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Linux, AIX, and VMware infrastructure projects and ensuring that global standards are defined and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Linux, AIX, and VMware infrastructure projects and ensure that global standards are defined and implemented.
  • Lead the APAC-wide business operations around Linux, AIX, and VMware infrastructure.
  • Own the L2/L3 ticket pools and ensure that defined Pool SLAs are met.
  • Work on external and internal tickets by engaging with ticket owners from different geos to understand their business requirements.
  • Patch/Upgrade OS, firmware periodically across APAC.
  • Work with remote IT teams to install/replace new systems as and when required.
  • Keep monitoring the IT infrastructure performances and proactively intimate the management if there is any upgrade/replacement required.
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
  • Coordinate with business leaders to understand and meet their expectations.
  • Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration and deployment to infrastructure as application leveraging automation/configuration management technologies.
  • Maintain all relevant IT documentation on a day-to-day basis.
  • Help the automation team with feedback on how to automate recurring operational tasks and contribute code if possible.
  • Be part of the on-call process across APAC, including being available on phone during weeknights and weekends as per a pre-defined shift roster with additional monetary benefits.
  • Quick understanding of the IT infrastructure, various processes, and policies, and being aligned, focusing on continuous IT delivery in a complex IT environment.
  • Managing the expectations of IT and business stakeholders, participating and delivering various critical IT projects, managing SLA, and improving user satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • B. Tech / (CS / IT / E&TC) from premier institutions with good academic track records.
  • Overall industry experience of 5-10 years in the Linux, AIX, and VMware infrastructure support.
  • 5-6 years of hands-on experience in managing Linux L2/L3 issues and large Linux/Unix infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in Redhat, SLES OS administration.
  • Hands-on experience in managing physical servers.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring DNS, DHCP, NFS, AUTOFS, Sendmail, Crontab, etc.
  • Good understanding of Shell Script, Ansible, Python, rest API, etc.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts like LAN, VLANS, Routes, etc.
  • Experience in working in an international team.
  • Experience on an SLA-oriented ticketing tool.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex Linux OS issues.
  • Adaptability, ability to learn faster, independent, responsible, and diligent.
  • Good team spirit and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
  • Achieves performance goals and objectives in line with the team strategy.
  • An Evangelist in terms of cyber security and its latest happenings around the globe.
  • Professional certification such as RHCE or VCE or AIX.
