About the Team You Will Be Part Of
Reporting to the Area Manager for France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Southern Europe, the selected candidate will engage with member airlines and relevant industry and governmental stakeholders across the region to enhance the value of their membership in IATA and execute IATA campaigns aligned with Board priorities. Additionally, the role entails promoting the sales agenda, assisting the area manager, addressing local and regional market demands, and ensuring that assigned targets and objectives are achieved. The incumbent will strengthen IATA's capacity in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands to advocate for members' interests before legislative and executive branches of government while also attracting new members.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of advocacy campaigns as defined by the Regional Leadership Team (RLT), collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) to facilitate campaign implementation;
- Assist the Area Manager in promoting industry positions to national governments and regulatory bodies;
- Foster and maintain proactive relationships with member airlines and other industry stakeholders, including airports, authorities, suppliers, and service providers across the region; establish and sustain relevant partnerships;
- Provide timely updates to the Area Manager, Regional Vice President (RVP), and RLT regarding progress and achievement of objectives;
- Attend industry meetings and conferences; organize meetings and briefings as necessary;
- Contribute to developing relationships with non-member airlines, raising awareness of IATA's services and products;
- Actively support sales initiatives, promoting IATA's portfolio of products and services, and advise the Area Manager on various offerings while reporting any new business opportunities;
- Offer guidance and leadership at the regional level on key regulatory matters, including coordinating lobbying efforts for IATA positions on critical regulatory issues across the region;
- Enhance local communication with stakeholders;
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Area Manager.
Qualifications and Competencies We Seek
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a similar capacity. Experience in the aviation sector and familiarity with aviation environmental issues would be advantageous;
- Demonstrated exceptional project management capabilities, with the ability to operate under pressure on multiple issues with tight deadlines and shifting priorities;
- Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing individuals in a multicultural environment;
- Strong analytical abilities and outstanding oral presentation skills;
- Proficient in written and spoken French and English; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus.
Travel Requirements: Yes / 10%
