The airline industry is undergoing a significant transformation in retailing to meet the evolving expectations of customers, including enhanced workflow efficiency, price transparency, and personalized interactions.
In this dynamic environment, Amadeus has initiated the Nevio program, aimed at delivering the full potential of this transformation. Our team, ORR-OST-OMS, is responsible for developing the Order Management System (OMS), a critical component of Nevio.
Role Overview
This opportunity is suitable for individuals currently in a Solution Definition Manager role or those aspiring to transition into this position.
As part of the OMS team, you will engage in an agile environment focused on designing, developing, validating, and maintaining key components of the OMS, including:
- Core order management system for handling order data and lifecycle, storage, and fulfillment.
- Integration with the NDC layer of the order suite through the RTL backend.
- Collaboration with other suites essential for order processing: offer suite, revenue accounting, payment, operations suite, etc.
- Leveraging PSS capabilities for a seamless transition while introducing new functionalities via OMS.
The ideal candidate will initially contribute to gain insights into the domain before gradually advancing to a full-time Solution Definition Manager role, equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the area.
Initial Responsibilities
- Clarify requirements with Business Unit product management and propose solutions aligned with the strategic vision to ensure new developments meet customer expectations.
- Ensure features are industrialized and easily deployable to enhance product deployment and maintainability.
- Innovate by designing and documenting new features, considering both industry and technical advancements.
- Document and disseminate knowledge to provide valuable information to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring quality product specifications and solution designs.
- Coordinate with relevant divisions to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.
- Validate the product to ensure compliance with delivered functionality and system integrity.
- Provide necessary information to Product Management for business case development and RFP responses.
- Support customers during the production phase and contribute to maintenance efforts, ensuring production integrity and security.
- Collaborate with team members to leverage diverse knowledge and backgrounds.
Progressive Responsibilities as a Solution Definition Manager
Act as the primary contact for cross-functional expertise.
- Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross-functional projects and complex organizational solutions.
- Respond to the needs of Central and/or Regional commercial organizations in collaboration with Product Definition and Development teams.
- Identify areas for optimization and document reusable solution responses.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on engagement status.
- Identify and manage impacts on Amadeus Solutions and Products provided to clients.
Support and Expertise for Product, Sales, and Account Teams
- Assist in preparing RFI/P responses and addressing ad hoc customer requests.
- Provide recommendations for new solutions in collaboration with R&D teams.
- Analyze needs from customers and internal sources, proposing functional and technical solutions.
- Document and present solution recommendations effectively.
- Support studies for new business opportunities involving complex solutions.
- Propose strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
Development and Sharing of Solution Analysis and Expertise
- Define and execute communication and training strategies within the team.
- Create training materials, including tutorials and user guides.
- Facilitate communication between commercial and R&D organizations regarding complex solutions.
- Design tools to support processes, focusing on User Experience principles.
- Track and measure the performance of functional and technical solution determination processes, proposing improvements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role (Solution Definition Manager, PDA, senior PDA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of key Technical Pre-Sales methodologies and prerequisites.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with project stakeholders and Amadeus clients.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to propose effective solutions.
- A strategic vision for product development, effectively communicated within teams.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
