The Financial Controller partners with France leaders in P&L management and aligns with the EMEA FP&A team to meet budget goals and maximize ROI.

**Responsibilities**:
Partnership
- Be an active contributor & facilitator to P&L operations transition.
- Partner with the EMEA FP&A team to share context and insights on the France Area and market specificity
- Develops trusted partnerships with Area leaders and EMEA team, and takes shared responsibility for, generating solutions that drive business leader goals, cost optimization, and maximize return-on-investment (ROI). Provides credible insights into Profit and Loss (P&L) optimization, identifying market opportunities, performance improvements, and achieving growth.
- Applies understanding of the broader Microsoft context and external market trends to offer impactful solutions to ensure objectives are met. Articulates a comprehensive view of financial results and approaches leaders can implement.
Prioritization
- Review P&L as assessed by Regional Teams & provide judgement /redeployment decision within empowerment based on local insights & priorities
- Consults with business leaders on implications of results and operating expenses. Provides guidance to achieving objectives and maximizing return-on-investment (e.g., headcount, operational efficiencies, resource allocation, vendor agreements, etc.).
- Works directly with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group..
- Delivers results through tracking performance, forecast accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to maximize profitability. Manages the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close and recurring business review preparation.
Protect
- Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments.
- Encourages asking questions and identifying risks to compliance. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards.
- Jointly maintains with Stat&tax lead control process and procedures regarding accounting, stat, non-financial disclosures, tax, and regulatory filings. Ensures proper financial and accounting infrastructure to maintain reporting requirements.
- Creates alignment between business stakeholders and internal audit team. Reviews and discusses audit findings
**Qualifications**:
**Required/minimum qualifications**:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND many years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND multiple years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
OR equivalent experience.
