UL Solutions’ Field Engineering team works on-site with our customers to understand their needs and how they meet the market's needs. We help to ensure that all certified products continue to comply with UL Solutions' requirements and partner with customers to help them meet their changing needs.

As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we are looking for a **Field Engineer** to join our team in Alsace (France).

UL Solutions’ Field Engineering team works on-site with our customers to understand their needs and how they meet the market's needs. We help to ensure that all certified products continue to comply with UL Solutions' requirements and partner with customers to help them meet their changing needs.

**What you’ll learn & achieve**:
Under limited supervision, you will execute the timely completion of assigned work orders and other Inspection Center projects by analyzing scope and determining requirements, evaluating complex product and systems to establish requirements and preparing reports.

You will maintain the integrity of the UL Mark by conducting various product, device, process, system and material inspections at various site and factory locations to ensure that they are produced and marked in compliance with applicable technical requirements. Building strong relationship with your clients, based on trust, you will assist in the promotion, marketing and selling of new and existing UL services.

Based from your home office, using your company car, you visit your clients factories (almost every day / with a percentage of remote audits allowed).
- Independently (and according to a high-quality & integrity standard), perform safety and non-safety certification inspections and field audits in accordance with the required performance standards and requirements.
- Analyze and evaluate client examination and test results against UL requirements, including verification of the accuracy of manufacturers’ measuring equipment, and reviewing of production and inspection records.
- Document examination, findings and test results to appropriate UL forms.
- Co-operate with other departments within organization to provide a premium service to our clients.
- Support your client to fulfill their needs (for existing files or future projects, for training purposes), in order to build a strong and trustful relationship with them and offer the best service. Helps resolve technical issues in your clients files.
- Provide valuable information to our Sales services to help better understand our clients needs, generate leads and opportunities.
- Participate in internal projects related to process/systems improvement, development of business.

**What makes you a great fit**:

- Technical educational background, preferably in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering field (BSc or MSc title).
- Min 3 years of technical experience in an electromechanical, electrical or electronical industry, ideally within an environment of compliance to quality standard (such as ISO 9000) and working in contact with product safety standards or quality standards.
- Open-minded, autonomous and energetic personality with excellent time-management skills.
- Good communication skills (you need to like contact with multiple contacts in multiple companies).
- Fluent in French (min C1). Very good knowledge of English (min B2). Any additional language skill would be a plus (Portuguese, Spanish).
