**Context**:
Axens Project Operations Business Division (POP) mission is to provide advanced technologies, basic engineering design, modular units design and technical services to its customers. We are looking for an intern for the POP Process Department. In the Process Department we work on basic engineering projects and Modular Units Projects development for our customers but also on new technologies development.

Axens/IFPEN and Total have jointly developed the Atol® technology, which is now commercialized by Axens. Atol® is the most profitable technology for the production of polymer grade bio-ethylene by dehydration of 1st and/or 2nd generation renewable ethanol. The bio-ethylene produced can be integrated in partial and/or total replacement of fossil hydrocarbon based ethylene in various downstream polymerization assets without modifications in the plants. As well as for the production of sustainable aviation jet-fuel industry (SAF). Hence, Axens design guidelines need to be improved in order to facilitate Process Books production.

**Tasks and activities**:
In close contact with the Process Design and Technology team, you will work on several tasks related to ATOL process. The main missions of the intern will be:

- Optimisation of reference simulation
- Development of the main guidelines (i.e. operating cases to be considered, diameter and packing height estimation, etc.), along with a calculation tool to design the Quench Tower.
- Optimization of scheme & operating conditions to reduce CAPEX/OPEX & Carbon Intensity (CI)
- Summary of design rules for ATOL technology.

**Profile**:

- Currently in your last year engineer school specialized in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a 5 to 6 months internship.
- You are looking for technical challenges, you are eager to learn and you are able to understand quickly new concepts.
- You work autonomously, set your own targets and report your progress and difficulties frequently. Good team spirit, organized, proactive.
- Advanced competences in Word, Excel and Visual Basic.

Fluent in English or in French, with good writing skills in English.
