**MISSION**

In connection with the move to ecological transition, Axens is developing an industrial project in order to become a leading European producer of active materials for cathode (CAM) and its precursors (pCAM) used in batteries for electric vehicles. Axens is building a technological and strategic partnership with a major CAM producer in order to supply the European customers in the EV Batteries’ value chain.

To support this new development and its deployment, Axens creates a position of Raw Materials Global Strategic Sourcing Lead Buyer to secure the critical metals required to operate the plant.
Within Global Purchasing organization and reporting to Direct Purchasing Team Manager, you will work for Battery Business Development Team and be responsible for their Raw Materials Portfolio.

You will be a key contributor of Axens Battery Project success by securing the supply of strategic metals for the future CAM factory. In accordance with Axens Purchasing Policy, you will be responsible for the design, set-up and execution of the sourcing strategies for the metals salts. You will manage a Raw Materials spend of around 150 M€.

**MAIN ACTIVITIES**
- Develop battery market knowledge and expertise, understand key market drivers.
- Define with the relevant stakeholders appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Analyze the market to identify sustainable suppliers from the different sectors (mines, manufacturers, recycling companies )
- Lead suppliers’ selection and qualification.
- Establish long-term framework agreements.
- Build robust partnerships with strategic vendors to ensure a steady supply.
- Monitor and follow-up the suppliers. Assess suppliers risk impacts related to production capacity, quality capabilities, sustainability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aiming at creating value including cost reduction opportunities, lead-time optimization, suppliers’ performance improvement.
- Ensure best in class Purchasing practices (TCO, Risks Management, Quality, Innovation, CSR, HSE, Compliance
- Integrate Axens sustainability and climate policy in the sourcing and purchasing strategy and make sure our partners are in line with our standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Graduated with a Master degree in Purchasing (Kedge, Desma, Business school or equivalent ), you have a strong professional experience (10 years minimum) in metals strategic sourcing / purchasing within international and industrial environment, ideally in the battery, automotive or critical materials sectors.

Chemical education background will be a plus.

You are an Experienced negotiator, and results oriented.

In additon, you have a demonstrated experience in risks management and suppliers relationship management.

You are fluent in English, French is a plus.
Finally, availability for frequent travels is required (20-30%).

This position can be based at our head office in Rueil Malmaison or at one of our offices in Lyon and Nantes.
