Research Engineer in Mechanical Leveling Processes

You will be attached to Downstream Processes (DP), a multi-cultural cluster composed by engineers and technicians organized in three teams, working on development and deploying process solutions for ArcelorMittal.
**Your role**
In this position, you will be in charge of R&D projects related to the development & deployment of numerical solution applied to flatness mastering of steel products.
Immediately, you will be involved in the following activities:
- Lead R&D projects dedicated to the development of new solutions for leveling and flatness mastering, including numerical models, new instrumentation, and predictive maintenance development
- Support different sites of ArcelorMittal in a worldwide perimeter to improve process conditions in existing lines: manage industrial trials, numerical simulations and process analyses
- Be the R&D representative for leveling process to help customer support with technical advice
- Support product developments, including new steel grades for electrical vehicles
- Participate to the digitalization process of the company
Business travels will allow you to work with partners in a worldwide perimeter and to experience different working cultures.
**Your profile**
- You hold a Masters' degree in Mechanical and/or Material Engineering; a PhD would be considered as an advantage.
- Experience in Automation & Regulation Control, with Predictive Maintenance and/or in Process Engineering would be a plus.
- Programming skills (Python, or any other language would be a plus).
- You are innovative, curious and results oriented.
- You have outstanding communication skills, excellent social skills when working on a project with a multi-cultural environment.
- You are willing to travel worldwide
- You are fluent in English and French
