**The Team**:

- Surveillance Strategy EMEA team is data focused trade surveillance team that aspires to create robust surveillance framework, resulting in more actionable alerts and increased STORs filed._ _We aspire to improve the quality and completeness of surveillance through data analytics, reduction in false positive and false negative alerts and adoption to latest technologies to identify unknowns._ The r_ole is based in Paris within the EMEA team however the focus is global._

**Role Description**:

- Assist in the execution of regular and fundamental reviews of the firm’s trade surveillance processes and procedures and implement changes where necessary
- Assist with the monitoring of current technology developments in trade surveillance and promote best practice initiatives
- Lead “effectiveness reviews” of surveillance alerts to take deep dives into the surveillance alert logic and make recommendations for improvements

**Core Skills**:

- Basic understanding of statistics that includes mean, median, mode, standard deviation, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure requirements are properly communicated to internal and external technology partners
- Strong understanding and/or experience on a trading desk to include order placement and routing, market data, and the full trade life cycle, including clearance and settlement
- Knowledge of SMARTS, Actimize or alternative surveillance systems - to include model logic and detailed data requirements
