**Director, Manufacturing Operations**

**Responsibilities**:

- ** **Oversees and directs the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies.
- Establish goals and objectives for all manufacturing functions and review performance metrics against operating plans and standards.
- Develop, lead, and execute daily production plans, implement a strategy to reduce cycle time, and drive variable cost productivity, reduce in process inventory levels, and improve quality, service, and safety.
- Define and recommend objectives in each operating area; Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs.
- Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins.
- Identify training needs, initiate development of subordinates, recommend effective personnel action.
- Work closely with engineering in releasing new products. Explore the current strategies to optimally build and maintain bridges between quality, operations and R & D to ensure design concepts and specification requirements, best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques and ensure product performance and regulatory requirements are translated to measurable and repeatable process outputs.
- Develop and implement cost reduction and efficiency initiatives through continuous improvement programs such as 7S, Lean Training, Six Sigma, Kaizen implementation.
- Develop, lead and grow a high performing team spanning two shifts in our wafer manufacturing facility
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Keep employees informed as to the company/department plans and processes.
- Ensure all department policies and safety procedures are followed at all times.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Operations and/or NPI program management
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in people management
- Competence in Lean systems and tools
- Fluent in English & French

- Demonstrated knowledge of high volume manufacturing line management fundamentals.
- Must display strong sense of ownership, drive and dedication to the improvement of all aspects of wafer processing.
- The ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve processes is a must
- Team player who is capable of shifting workload between production and new process development support when necessary
- Willing to travel both domestic and international
