Our client is a leading provider of temperature-controlled storage and logistics solutions, committed to maintaining the highest quality standards for perishable goods. We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Cold Storage Manager to lead our facility operations and ensure optimal efficiency and compliance.
**The Role**: Your Impact
As the Cold Storage Manager, you will be the operational leader responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient management of our high-volume cold and freezer storage warehouse. You will drive performance, maintain stringent temperature controls, and champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
**Operational Leadership**: Direct all cold storage activities, including receiving, put-away, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping of temperature-sensitive products.
**Safety & Compliance**: Enforce rigorous safety protocols (OSHA) and ensure 100% compliance with all food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF/BRC, USDA, FDA).
**Temperature Integrity**: Implement and monitor strict temperature control SOPs to safeguard product quality across all cold/freezer zones.
**Inventory Control**: Manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain world-class inventory accuracy, optimize storage utilization, and enforce FIFO/LIFO rotation.
**Team Management**: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff, fostering a high-performing and safety-conscious work environment.
**Process Improvement**: Utilize data and process methodologies to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience (Required/Preferred)
**Required**: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment.
**Preferred**: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Must have direct experience managing operations within a Refrigerated or Freezer environment.
Certifications & Process Excellence
**Food Safety Certification**: Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP is required. SQF Practitioner or BRC Global Standards certification is a significant asset.
**Process Improvement**: Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly desirable for driving efficiency and waste reduction.
**Safety**: Current OSHA or relevant Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety certifications.
Essential Technical Skills
Proven expertise with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Strong knowledge of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and implementation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
