As part of its development strategy, RATP Dev is positioning itself on the Operations & Maintenance of the Belgrade Metro project. The commercial opening of Line 1 is scheduled for 2030, with two additional lines planned in the following years. From 2026 onward, RATP Dev will contribute to project integration and lead the opening preparations for Line 1.MAIN PURPOSE

The System Assurance Manager will ensure that the safety, systems and security assurance processes are effectively implemented and followed during the D&C phase

RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of their role, the System Assurance Manager will be expected to carry out the following activities to ensure that all safety, security, and system assurance processes are effectively implemented, risks are managed, and RAMS requirements are maintained across the project lifecycle:

General

• Support the processes (safety,security and systems assurance) defined by RDSerbia,

• Support the risk and hazard management processes,

• Contribute to the management plan production,

• Contribute to the configuration management,

• Contribute to and support the Document Management System architecture, implementation and management.

Safety

• Contribute to the requirements management process,

• Contribute in the Verification and Validation process (gate reviews, production, milestones, evidences,…) defined by D&C,

• Review the System Safety Assurance Plan,

• Review and assess the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and SHL (System Hazard Log) at system level,

• Review and assess the Sub-System Hazard Identification (SSHI) Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SSHA) Sub-System Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA),

• Review and assess the exported constraints to the operator,

• Participate in the hazard and risk review processes as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Human Factor

• Contribute, engage and participate in the human factors review process,

• Contribute to ergonomic assessments and reviews with assistance from the SME (operation, maintenance).

System Assurance

• Support the apportionment of system-level RAMS requirements to subsystems and components,

• Oversee interface management to ensure RAMS requirements are maintained across system boundaries,

• Plan and coordinate V&V activities to demonstrate compliance with RAMS requirements, 

• Ensure objective evidence is collected and documented,

• Support or lead the development of the Safety Case and associated documentation,

• Ensure the system is demonstrably safe for operation,

• Liaise with engineering, operations, maintenance, and regulatory bodies,

• Communicate assurance status, risks, and issues effectively.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the railway sector, ideally with exposure to driverless metro systems
• Proven expertise in RAMS processes, including hazard identification, risk analysis, verification and validation
• Experience in engineering safety management and system assurance planning
• Familiarity with configuration management and asset data governance
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with international teams and adapt to multi-time zone coordination
• Experience with quality assurance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance (a plus)

QUALIFICATION

• Degree in Engineering or B.Sc./M.Sc. in Physics, Electronics, Power Supply, or Computer Science
• Sound understanding of EN50126:2017 and ISO 50216
• Knowledge of safety-critical rail standards and applicable legislation
• Familiarity with ONRSR or equivalent regulatory frameworks (desirable)
