As the Services Business Development Director for Retail & Commerce you will have the opportunity to lead the Business Development strategy & execution for Retail and Commerce clients and be responsible for building a portfolio of flagship customers.

The Services team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting edge customer insights, hyper personalization, and loyalty assets as well as cutting-edge strategy consulting services, services to fight against fraud and cybersecurity services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this team is responsible for end-to-end solutions supporting a diverse global customer base.
The BD Retail & Commerce Services Director's key responsibilities include:
- Be a key contributor to our Services Business Development activities for the Retail & Commerce segment in France, driving growth and shaping our presence with leading merchants and corporates
- Build, manage, and expand a strong sales pipeline, identifying high‑value opportunities and engaging senior client executives in strategic discussions around innovative and impactful service offerings across all Mastercard Services products lines
- Cultivate and maintain a robust network of flagship clients across key sectors such as Retail, Telco, Big Tech, Media, and e‑commerce, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and partner
- Develop tailored, high-impact proposals that leverage the full scope of Mastercard Services capabilities (Consulting, Marketing Services, Labs, Customization), as well as solutions in fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and Open Banking
- Champion and elevate awareness of Services Retail & Commerce solutions by shaping thought leadership, organizing client‑facing events, and hosting strategic engagements - including Priceless experiences - to reinforce long-term relationships.
- Act as a strong team player capable of navigating and influencing within a matrixed global organization, collaborating seamlessly with Sales Specialists, product teams, and regional stakeholders to bring the best of Mastercard to clients.
- Collaborate closely with local delivery and project teams to ensure flawless post-sale execution, maintain high client satisfaction, and identify opportunities for follow-up engagements and cross-sell
Experiences & Qualifications we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree required, Masters, MBA or relevant post graduate degree recommended
- Background in a top-tier consulting firm with exposure to retail clients, or alternatively proven track record in business development or strategy roles within leading e-commerce or retail organizations
- Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, self-starter and strong commercial sense
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and French
- Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
