An international clearing house within the Post Trade Division of LSEG. We serve a global client base and operate a fast-evolving, sophisticated set of businesses that are critical to financial markets. The Company operates under the oversight of AMF, ACPR, and Banque de France, and services are supervised by the SEC and CFTC. We also maintain information obligations to authorities in Japan, Canada, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions.
About the RoleThis position is based in Paris and reports to the Head of Legal at LCH SA. You will join a team that values expertise, integrity, and innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesClearing Rules & Regulatory Framework:
- Analyze and update clearing rules, instructions, and notices in response to new products, projects, and regulatory changes.
- Draft amendments and handle the regulatory approval process with authorities (AMF, ACPR, BdF, SEC, CFTC).
- Prepare bilingual documentation (French/English).
Contractual Work:
- Negotiate and draft, and amend agreements with trading venues, CSDs, service providers, intra-group entities, and financial counterparties.
- Handle master agreements (GMRA, FBF).
Claims & Regulatory Requests:
- Respond to member and client inquiries.
- Handle regulator requests and clearing member claims.
Corporate Governance:
- Draft and review internal legal documents, including committee terms of reference.
- Conduct legal research on corporate law issues.
- Provide clear advice to internal customers on new products, memberships, and service improvements
- Ensure business development aligns with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in market consultations and regulatory initiatives.
- Support other legal department activities as needed.
- 6–8+ years PQE in financial services as in-house counsel or at a credible international law firm.
- Master's degreee or equivalent experience or experience in French financial/banking law; corporate law knowledge is a plus.
- Strong understanding of DORA, EMIR, Arrêté 3 November 2014, and banking regulations.
- French or dual UK qualification preferred.
- Shown integrity, autonomy, and accountability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Collaborative approach.
- Proficient in French and English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities optimally.
- Flexibility and adaptability in challenging environment.
- Assertiveness combined with strong partnership skills.
