Hummink is a deeptech startup that enables the manufacturing of micro and nano electronic objects of tomorrow. Thanks to its breakthrough High Precision Capillary Printing technology (HPCaP), Hummink is overcoming the current industry limitations with a simpler, faster, and more environment- friendly solution. Spun-off from the prestigious physics labs of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, the company was founded in 2020 and is already collaborating with major industrial players from the semiconductor, display and printed electronics sectors. Hummink has already sold equipment in Europe, US and Asia, and is under qualification with major industrial manufacturers to ramp up their sales.
To support our innovation in functional ink development, we are looking for a
R&D Chemistry Engineer
to join our R&D team.
Missions
As a Chemical Engineer – Formulation Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and validating functional ink formulations tailored to our proprietary printing technology. Your key responsibilities will include:

Formulation Development:
Design and refine complex ink formulations (nanoparticles, polymers, and other functional materials) compatible with HPCaP technology and customer-specific requirements.

Physicochemical Characterization:
Conduct analyses including UV-Visible spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), rheology, viscosity, and stability tests. Interpret results to guide formulation improvements.
• Printing Performance Evaluation:
Collaborate closely with process team to evaluate ink behavior in printing conditions and drive iterative improvements.
• Innovation & Technology Tracking :
Identify and experiment with emerging materials and novel approaches to maintain technological leadership.

Project Management:
Lead formulation projects internally or in collaboration with academic and industrial partners, ensuring timelines, quality, and documentation are met.
• Reporting & Traceability:
Prepare technical documentation, protocols, reports, and Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to ensure product quality and compliance.
Profile and Experience
Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Proven experience working in a chemical lab specializing in ink formulation, coatings, or functional materials.
Strong background in lab-based R&D and analytical techniques.
Familiarity with formulation constraints in printing technologies is a strong plus.
Detail-oriented, strong analytical and organizational skills, clear and effective communicator.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and French.
